Channel Estimation in MIMO Systems With One-Bit Spatial Sigma-Delta ADCs

This paper focuses on channel estimation in single-user and multi-user MIMO systems with multi-antenna base stations equipped 1-bit spatial sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). A careful selection of the quantization voltage level phase shift used feedback loop ADCs is critical to improve its effective resolution. We first develop a noise model for ADCs. Using developed model, we then present two-step algorithm estimate multipath parameterized by gains, angles arrival (AoAs), departure (AoDs). Specifically, step, AoAs are estimated using uplink pilots, which excite all uniformly. Next, second AoDs progressively refining beams through recursive bisection procedure followed weighted least squares path gain estimator. For this algorithm, propose technique select shift.
